today my pinterest feed was about 80% 'recommended for me'. clicked on each and every one of them to state that 'i don't like suggestions'. will they take a hint? probably not. i'm a very visual person and also highly sensitive so i want to feel in control of what i view. i would probably look at and like and repin suggestions if they were a separate feed i could choose to look at. i just would like *my* feed to feel mine. i love exploring pinterest, but they are making it harder and harder for me to even go there. instagram is doing a fine job of ruining itself, too. guess it's unavoidable in a money-driven world, but it's making me sad to lose these ways of relaxation and fun.
we've been hit by a heat wave so going out to the real world is not really an option for me. it's just too hot. i may be crankier than usual for that reason. just waiting for the evening so i can go get some groceries and visit the garden to water what's left of it.
been making progress on my crocheted top project. on monday i went to the beach to work on it when it was still decently warm. making it up as i'm going along, basically, and hoping to show off the finished garment soon. two skeins left. today i finished two waffle cloth hand towels that were meant for my housewarming party a month ago... i'm still proud of myself for doing anything at all with such sweaty paws.
the rats are now eight months old and starting to show some signs of being grown ups, occasionally. savu unfortunately is sprouting a tumour on his thigh so he has to have surgery this summer. i was hoping to get a third boy, but any adoption plans are now pushed further into the year. or they may be brought back, as surgery is never without risks... but that's not really something i want to think about. it's the best option to nip it in the bud, since there's no telling if it's a benign growth or not.
i weighed both after a long while and savu is still tiny at 576 grams but sysi has reached a handsome 714 g. he may have been more, to my eye he has shed some puppy fat lately, or it could be the sleeker summer coat... they are mostly good boys and eating their greens, but savu especially has so much energy, and he has now learned to climb the kitchen chairs onto the table and the forbidden windowsill... not pleased with this discovery but secretly proud. they're not the brightest young minds... but sometimes they're so clever.
