03 August 2013
during the past week and a half, i've spent a lot of time in town, running about. it was good that i had a chance to go to the beach alone and just sit there in the thick, odd fog that floated in from the sea.
when i was a child, the beach was full of flat stones for skipping, and when i was a teen, the sand was a lot paler. it has been replaced many times over since, because for a few years a big music festival took place there and there was no other way to get rid of all the garbage. the red strand still looks strange to me.
we are having yet another wave of heat, i've given up on trying to rescue most of the garden. berries are ripening faster than i can pick them, because i can't stand to be outside during the hottest hours of the day, nor do i have it in me to wake up really early in the morning, although i really should.
