i don't know where today went. it all started so promisingly, cleaning up kitty messes, mopping up the mystery puddle from the kitchen floor (not kitty related, it just keeps appearing) and taking out buckets of compost waste. i fixed the plastic cover on our box of 'carbon matter for compost' outside and added some soaked cardboard etc to the sorry bin. my friend, ever the optimist, keeps telling me it'll be fine. my expectations are not that high. i have never feared a compost bin before...
a fresh branch had fallen off the huge monterey cypress on the yard, with tons of cones on it. i cut a lot of green off it, don't know whether to say foliage or needles, and arranged them on a brick with holes in it for a makeshift houseplant. after that it gets a bit hazy, but i recall burning incense and listening to sixties' music on youtube... and pinterest took care of the rest. come to think of it, i did do a lot more today than on average so no worries. except i somehow managed to forget groceries and, ahem, mailing some presents, for the holidays, you know...
but look! i drew lines on my fingers instead! and took an out-of-focus photo of them!
(actually, i shot some sharp ones as well, but just like the blurry one best.)
