before i completely forget, i want to show some things from the yard sales in the old town during lace week. check out the wooden spokes on the wheel of the T-ford! it wasn't for sale, unsurprisingly, and neither were the old tools and things at another private museum i visited. i wonder if someone carefully positioned the felt boots to make it look like they're dancing, or if it was a happy accident...
there's enough carpenter blood in my veins to put me in tool heaven when stumbling upon a place like this. loved the way the wooden shovel was well mended. made me pine for times when craftmanship was appreciated, and necessary, and commonplace. wanted to learn to use all the mysterious gadgets.
also, a former president smoking the peace pipe.
today, i am fighting a flu that has been lurking for a while. my amazing energy is gone, all of a sudden it just vanished, but i had a great week while it lasted. i could use another bout, because there's tons of berries to pick and preserve. but now i think i'll medicate myself with a cherry & whiskey tonic and cuddle with the couch all night.
