...some more pictures from edinburgh! on top a lovely little enclosed nature preserve on the side of castle rock. birdsong aplenty there, even in january. actually, it seemed like spring was just around the corner with so many bushes and trees budding, some even beginning to bloom, especially in the cemetary at the end of princes street gardens, where the adorable skulls on gravestones can be found. i was especially intrigued by one particular tree with white blossoms, visible from lothian road, but couldn't get close enough to investigate what it might have been.
even though it was bitterly windy at times, we were quite lucky with the weather. even a spot of sunshine one day on the walking tour with the positively mental alan the pirate, as well as thick fog rolling down royal mile another night. on friday the grey skies gave way and the city was momentarily awash with the last light of dusk, or as they call it, gloaming.
