the pineaway

i have no words to describe how much in awe i am of ann wood. (i know because i've been sitting here for ages trying to come up with some.) she just released a few adorable spiders for sale, and i'm using that as an excuse to finally post some of my own spider portraits. my brother is quite the arachnophobic, but my initial response is to take pictures. spiders are fascinating and i tolerate them in the house because they keep a lot of other creepy crawlies at bay, but even i evict any that insist on climbing into bed with me or hanging menacingly right above. then it's time for the matchbox cab and a ride outdoors. the following i pestered in their natural habitat back on the homestead, and they must have been terrified. sorry.
