there is snow up to knees and more here, so venturing into the woods hasn't really been an option. the consistency of all this snow is wonderful. there's a thick crust on top and beneath it's firm but fluffy. walking in it was easier than i thought. i soon learned the technique of extending my feet into it as if tiptoeing, only in giant strides. rabbits the snow bears. and foxes, barely.
