somehow we have glided over onto april and i seem to have failed my march project at only three videos. sorry about that. easter kind of got in the way. i spent five days internet-less, gorging on loads of wheat and rye, both of which aren't really all that good for me (not to mention the sugar!) but i enjoyed them immensely anyhow. i made carrot cake with my mother, and it was a big hit wherever it went. it was the best carrot cake ever, no question.
then i bought nail polish again, after a lengthy rumination during which the bottle went back and forth in and out of my shopping basket... but this time i think i found a keeper: rimmel's 60 seconds round and round the garden. it's almost the same colour as my kånken backpack, it goes with everything and doesn't make my nails feel funny. it does not dry in sixty seconds, though. i wore it out on friday when i also premiered my wool jersey kookaï dress that i bought several years ago. it's a little bit too large for me and it has a detailed front that calls for better fit. i tried washing it (by hand) in hot water to shrink it but nothing happened. i wore it anyway, after stitching some gathered scalloping all along the hem to keep it off the ground. it made even my messy hair glamorous (at least in my mind...)
at the red cross fleamarket i hoarded double-pointed needles and found a long mattress needle which is sure to come in handy sometime in the future... at three euros it was a bit steep (the super-nice lady wasn't manning the desk this time) but still a steal considering that the single needle alone costs more than that, and i got three sets of double-pointeds as well. on average i'd have to shell out about 16 euros for the lot. now i can start new socks whenever i feel like it! no need to finish others first.
there was also board games, incredible truffle sauce, long walks across town and back again, meeting old friends, microwave meals, eye drops and ice cream, but most importantly the chocolate fast is finally over. my favourite easter egg, the 'licorice troll', has a minty girlfriend this year, but she had a harsh taste and no cool patterns on the chocolate itself. disappointing. but i've still got a licorice one left, nested in the middle of some budding maple twigs in the vase. all is well.
