there was nothing last night and today i found this. it's a hyacinth bean i think, didn't label as usual. the growth rate is a slight concern. if you don't hear from me, send a gang with machetes.
the ice is all gone, i don't know when that happened. i wish i had a boat, or a canoe. or knew someone who does. i would love to be out there, and i'm not much of a swimmer. i sit on the end the quay instead, watching the birds fly by and rays of sunshine sifting through the brown water.
a lemon butterfly flew into my view for the first time this year, i feel like baking something lemony in celebration. i also saw a dung beetle, which wasn't inspiring in the same way but they are quite cute little critters. i picked it up to get a closer look and then let it walk onto a low branch to see if it would fly. it hung from the branch by one front leg for a moment, then took a leap of faith and let go in order to be where it was supposed to be, firmly on the ground. i admire that.
