coprinus micaceus
an army of mica ink-cap has sprouted from a half decomposed birch stump on our yard. every year they seem to spread wider and further from the centre, going down the roots.these mushrooms contain chemicals that intefere with the burning off of alcohol, resulting in nasty antabus-like reactions of severe ill-feeling. or the hangover from hell, in so many words.

that is my father. in case anyone ever wondered where i got my fungus-photographing genes from.... i take after him in many ways, good and bad. but i don't have a fancy-ass camera like his, i shoot with an old ixus, very compact, very simple. limiting as well, but i find that liberating. the snapshot mentality works for me.
