i will be the first one to admit my adoration of these woolly tabi socks is borderline cuckoo. once i began to sew on the pearly buttons, my heart started galloping. they've been in the making for a good while; cast on last summer, taken along to ireland to be finished and worn as bed socks, but instead lugged back home, then finally completed last week. i had to put them aside for a few days before adding the finishing touches. now i am in love.

they are knit from the toe(s) up, the pattern is called lickety split, and it was a delight to knit. i used novita 'nalle' yarn in charcoal, the vintage mother-of-pearl buttons are from a batch bought from some etsy shop a long time ago. the excitement is ridiculous.
