last weekend i partook in some of the lace week festivities in rauma, and made some vintage finds, pictured above, that i just had to have despite being broke. the lace tunic is the actual matching top to the crazy lace trousers i bought in turku earlier this summer! what are the odds? it felt like destiny. i have other plans for a wedding dress, if i ever get to wear one, but they would make for a nice rehearsal dinner combo, assuming there would be one, which isn't likely. but i digress.

yours truly wore the top as a mini dress with her turquoise underwear showing through for all the world to see. my mom said i should, by the way... the matching sunglasses, bought from the same boutique as the laciness, tied it all together i think, made it seem appropriate somehow. the intense heat helped, too. i tried to carry the outfit with the necessary attitude, but wavered while being filmed by a news crew at the fastest lacemaker competiton. luckily they didn't use that clip but focused on the contestants instead.

i sort of crashed a farewell party of a french artist-in-residence collective. blue crepes were served, and i was soo dressed for the occasion.  (tarmo thorström snapped this photo with my camera)

for a moment i considered cutting a fringe again. sadly, i need about half of my hair folded double to cover my forehead, not to mention the invincible middle partition my head is endowed with... nevermore! been there, fought that... it suits me fine but it's not worth the hassle.

i wore my new shoes on a couple of occasions and most of my toes are wrapped in silver-lined band-aids as a result. they are comfy heels but not hiking gear and i did a lot of walking...

highlights of my weekend were seeing the dreamy burlesque piece (the venue was a woodchopping shed turned photo atelier) by pepper sparkles, who looks so out of this world, like she has just stepped out of some silent film, and also listening to pekko käppi live for the first time.
