it wasn't the best of days all in all. the ink for my printer is extinct. i took my chances and bought a similar looking cartridge of black ink, just to see if the printer works or not. (i haven't used it in two years and now that i finally set it up with my laptop, it prints blank pages, so i imagine everything might be clogged up.) it was the same, so i opened the pack and put it in. only there was an extra tab that kept it from fitting. a tiny bit of plastic wasn't going to stop me, so a snip with side clippers and the cartridge was in. ha!
only there is a microchip on them that my printer couldn't (or wouldn't) recognize. but no measly chip will stand in my way. a twist with a hair clip and the chips were soon switched. ha hah! only now my repeated replacing of the ink had depleted the colour cartridges from all ink (where did it go? i ask... i can hear it sloshing about in there, but the damn chip says different...) and the printer won't print with any cartridge empty, even when i only want black. even if i choose the 'only in black' box. oh, technology, modern times... all you do is make me mad. so now i'm supposed to go and replace a perfectly working printer-scanner-copier just because a stupid chip on the ink cartridge tells wretched lies?
the best part? the packaging of my now useless, pricey black liquid container encourages me to join the bloody ink cartridge recycling club to help save resources. oh haha. let me tell you, epson, this is not the way to treat people. no-uh. and sure as all the money i've thrown down the well over those devilish chips, if i do buy a new printer, it will not be one of yours.
my crankiness is not alleviated by the acrid smell from the two lamp cords i got for my new plant-friendly lightbulbs. the fumes from some chinese concoction for plastic are doing who knows what to my brain. and i can't air them out because it would freeze the seedlings i'm so trying to pamper.
p.s. in your face epson! i just ordered a kit for refilling the ink cartridges and 'zapping' those chips. ha ha HA!
