seeing snowdrops at the park gave me hope that mine at home might still be on their way... the more i look at these, the more they look like floppy-eared bunnies. i keep going back and forth over having a pet, and rabbits have come up as an option. i'd like a non-carnivoire, cat-like and relatively small animal. i'm also thinking of mice, because i had two as a kid and they were great, and the other one lived for years, way longer than mice usually do, so i must have done something right. i'd like a rescue animal, though, and mice rarely end up in shelters.

but before i take any wardens, i must sort out my living arrangements, and it's not looking bright. every night i check the ads, and weep in desperation. there was an apartment for let in one of my dream houses in old rauma, a wooden one on top of a small slope with a garden... only it's for four people. half of it i could have afforded, but... it breaks my heart. also, someone was giving away four chicken and a rooster! one day, though...

my packing has ground to a halt. or maybe i have. i don't know what to do. there's dishes to do, like there always is, but i can't muster up the energy. i gave myself this break after catching myself sitting on the kitchen floor with frying pans on my lap, staring into oblivion. i'm torn between relief and grief. i want to steal the stove and the toilet seat, take them with me. you don't get that kind of vintage quality anymore. i love them. and many things about this place. but it's high time to go.

i've been on a fruit salad bender all week, accompanied by a good dollop of turkish yogurt, of course. the 10% fat is working, i seem to be developing some sort of a behind, which is nice. but now i'm craving fruit, which is no wonder considering how little of the stuff i've been having, must be deficient of all kinds of stuff. i found some really nice, small pomegranates one day, so small that the cashier checked if they weren't regular apples. my kitchen has become dappled with the juice, but as far as the stories i've heard of the fruit being diabolically staining, i wouldn't know. the stains wash right off.

i also bought these perfectly freckled granny smiths. meant to take their portraits, but ate them too soon... they are easily one of my favourite apples, i like the tarter, crispier ones. other good ones are braeburn, pink lady and fuji. this is of course among the supermarket varieties. the heirloom apples at home are in a league of their own. i'm hoping we'll one day have the green apple with pink flesh i've seen online, because, well... need i explain?

why did i just get a strong sense of deja vu, have i written this post before?
