when i thought about it a bit more, i had to admit that not all orange & yellow is unsightly. lemons, for example, are beautiful. few things in life are better than lemons. they smell heavenly and taste so fresh, they go with nearly anything. if i could have a lemon tree i think i'd be likely to faint from the elation. probably on a daily basis. then there's grapefruits. i saw a grapefruit tree in an arboretum a couple years ago and it nearly squashed my mind. ha. in all seriousness though, sour citrusy things rock my boat. and they're yellow. so i think i ought to give the color a chance. thereby, i'm presenting a collection of wonderful yellow things:

um... some cup fungus i haven't identified

but fascinating fungi is not all i've got:
yes, raspberries — and yeah, they're ripe...
there's a bagful of those raspberries in the big freezer ie. the balcony, waiting to become either sorbet, pie, or both. these grow in abundance at home, a happy mongrel mix between a regular garden variety and a rarer, small but very aromatic, yellow one. somehow the best of both came out in these big, juicy, tasty berries that seem to attract neither worms or birds. some of these, then, sometimes produce offspring that is mixed with the wild raspberry that grows nearby, resulting in even bigger, ruby red berries bursting with that original woodland flavor. true treasures. like jewels, only their value is in that they cannot be kept, you simply must enjoy the moment then and there.
